FAQ's
The first visit is an introduction to your specific concerns. If you have filled out the intake questionnaire, we will review it; but it is fine if you did not. We can go through the questionnaire together. Ultimately, it benefits both of us to have a good understanding of your relevant past medical history and specific concerns in order to move forward with an accurate projection of physical therapy needs.
In general, loose fitting clothing is a good choice. Of course, if we are meeting in the community, wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
I am happy to provide my best prognosis regarding your expected progress and recovery timeline. While the future is never certain and many factors contribute to your success on this path, you are always in the driver’s seat regarding your journey forward. You will get as many visits as it takes. Thank you for the opportunity to provide my professional input and support to help you reach your goals.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies several factors that contribute to fall risks, including physical decline, environmental hazards, and chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease.
As a physical therapist and fall prevention expert, I am here to provide you with the tools and awareness needed to prevent future injuries. We can achieve this together through:
- Efficient home exercise programs tailored to your needs.
- Comprehensive home assessments to identify hazards.
- Improved body awareness for safer daily activity.
It is also important to note that pain often accompanies movement disorders and can prevent optimal movement, which further increases your risk of falling. I can help identify these movement disorders and provide specific techniques to correct them, helping you relieve pain and move more confidently.
Yes. You do not need to wait for Home Health to finish their plan of care before starting therapy with me. I can work concurrently with Home Health providers.
In fact, it is often beneficial to have a physical therapist who can provide care on the days when Home Health is unable to visit due to their specific restrictions on visit frequencies. This process can be confusing, and I am happy to discuss how this coordination works over a phone call.
There are countless treatments, interventions, and modalities available to physical therapists. Some of the treatment interventions used include:
- Posture training
- Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
- Joint mobilization and soft tissue massage
- Isometrics
- Range of motion exercises (Active, Active-Assistive, and Passive)
- Plyometrics and stretching
- LSVT BIG protocol
- Modalities such as heat or cold therapy
My goal is to use the most effective combination of these techniques to support your specific recovery.
You are in control of the frequency and duration and can quit anytime, even if you've invested in a package.
Each visit is $150.
Invest in your longevity with one of the following packages and save:
4-Visit Home Evaluation and Starter package: $550
10-Visit Fall Prevention & Home Safety Program: $1300.
Choose a package at any time, you are not locked in.
I will need to add a $15 surcharge to each visit for travel outside of 25 minutes of my Boise home office. This will be established prior to our first visit.
After we discuss a time and place for the first visit I will send a payment link via text or Email. This will reserve the visit.
If you choose to pay as you go, I can send a link ahead of time or accept payment at the visit. If you elect one of the packages, I will accept payment at that time.
To ensure the process is as convenient as possible, I accept a variety of payment methods and will do my best to accommodate your preferred form of payment.
The packages are a great way to invest in your fitness and future safety. Enjoy the savings! If you need to cancel, I’ll simply subtract the regular $150 fee for each visit you've already used and refund the rest. Whenever possible, I’ll work with you to reschedule around travel, illness, or life events.
At this time, Stride Physical Therapy is a private-pay practice. This allows me to provide unrushed, highly personalized care focused on your goals.
Yes. all physical therapists are licensed through the division of occupational and professional licenses by the state of Idaho. dopl.idaho.gov
In the state of Idaho, you have "Direct Access," which means you can seek treatment from a physical therapist without a prior referral from a physician. Choosing to see a physical therapist first for a new musculoskeletal issue can often be a more cost-effective way to begin your recovery. During your initial evaluation, I will assess your condition and help determine if further diagnostic testing is beneficial or necessary to ensure we move forward with your treatment plan safely. Just be aware, I can't provide medical advice over the phone.
I certainly can. I will attend all of your home therapy visits, and with your explicit approval, I am happy to communicate my findings, concerns, and plan of care with your PCP. Otherwise, please be assured that our visits remain as confidential as you prefer.
I primarily serve the Boise, Meridian, Eagle areas, but I am open to discussing referrals in the surrounding communities such as Star, Middleton, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna.
There will be a $15 surcharge for travel times over 25 minutes from my home office.
My sessions are one hour long. If you need additional time, I will book you for an hour and a half.
If you are late or need to leave early, the session is still billed at the one-hour fee. Half-hour sessions are just not enough time to consider where you are, and what we really need to focus on for any given day. You should feel like you understand your treatment and feel prepared on what to do between visits.
I do not unless you request me to do so. I will have your next appointment(s) Listed at the bottom of the document I provide after each session.
You can reach me by phone or email at Stridehometherapy@gmail.com to discuss your needs and schedule an initial evaluation. I look forward to helping you take the next step in your wellness journey.
